We got together with some friends and did gingerbread houses! Taylor was very into the candy!

On Christmas Eve, the girls opened their new pajamas with Grandpa and Grandma.

Ready...set...open. Jordan wasn't too into it! :)

This by far was Taylor's favorite present. Princess outfit that didn't come off for weeks after Christmas.

We didn't take too many pictures, but we did enjoy the time with each other and

My Little Princesses

For someone who grew up a devout tom-boy...it's interesting to have a daughter that is so girly!! Taylor is sooooooooooo in to princesses right now! She got into Jordan's clothes and found this little tutu that her aunt Jenna bought for her when she was about 6 months old. I never thought that it would button, but it did and she wore it proudly all day! She even convinced me to make a crown for her!

I had to include this photo. Taylor naps in our guest room and this is what I found when I went to check on her one day. If you can't tell...she has climbed between the backboard and the window and fallen asleep. She was doubled over on her knees and just snoozing away!

I feel like Taylor does a lot of crazy things that warrent posts...but poor Jordan just gets lost in the chaos!! Here are some pics of my not-so-little girl!!

I finally decided that I wanted her to hold the bottle on her own....it was a little messy at first!

A friend of mine came over for dinner while Rob was away on business and her daughter put Jord into the walker without realizing that the seat wasn't fully attached! Jord was a little concerned.

Jordan loves to steal food from Taylor!! Oh, and Taylor loves to feed Jordan because then she doesn't have to eat as much.

Happy Halloween

Well we have been celebrating Halloween since the Wednesday before Halloween!! Our ward had our annual Halloween/Chili Cook off on Wednesday and Taylor was excited all day for her costume Party. We totally geeked it up. Rob wore a shirt that he won at work that lights up when there is wi-fi available. Jordan was windows seven. I was a firewall...and Tay was our computer geek!!

Sunday night we carved our pumpkin with Rob's family. Uncle Brian drew the face and then Rob and Taylor took care of the rest.

Jordie really really wanted to get involved!!

Proud Mama showing off her pumpkin...which we actually left burning all night Monday night! Ooops...funny thing is that the candle lasted all night and I didn't notice until Taylor told me that the pumpkin was still glowing! At 8 am!!!

My Little Break From Life!!

Well, we decided to celebrate Rob graduating from college a little early!! (He graduates in December) We dropped the girls at my parents house, my sister and her husband Nick dropped their kids off with Nick's Mom, and we headed out for Maui!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

At 3 am the first morning in Maui, we got in the car and headed for Haleakala, a volcanic crater, which sits at 10,000 ft above sea level!!
The sunrise was amazing...this picture doesn't even start to do it justice.
We spent an afternoon on a boat doing some fishing....well, not much fishing, but the ride was enjoyable. We had two bites but no luck!
I was amazed that there was this type of dry land...and then a few miles away...rich rainforest...

Bamboo isn't native to Hawaii, but has definitely taken over this hike that we went on. A little further down the trail it was actually so thick that they had to cut a 8 ft pathway through it and it was dark for about 1/2 a mile. Pretty cool.
One day we headed for Hana, a small town on the opposite side of the island. Some people in our neighborhood actually own a house on that end of the island, so they were nice enough to let us stay there for a night. We didn't realize how small Hana was and expected to go out for dinner that evening, but found out that there were like 2 restaurants and 2 general store...The picture says it all...we ate spam and macaroni for dinner for a cheap $27!!!

This is a cool banyan tree in Old Lahaina. There is an original trunk and then 16 more that have started from vines coming down from limbs. Pretty cool.
Isn't he cute?!?! I wanted to zipline, and Rob was kind enough to humor me even though it was pretty expensive! It was fun to get up into the mountains and get some adrenaline pumping at the same time.
The views were awesome.
All in all, I could never right down all that we did or all that we saw!! It was just awesome to get away and relax for a while...Rob style...which means not much relaxing, but lots of new things!

Conference Weekend

Too bad that it was Dora that had her so raptured!! Oh well, it allowed Rob and I to enjoy the session!!
One night I didn't have any clean pajamas for Jordan and so I got out Taylor's halloween pj's from last year. (we're not going to comment on how at 8 months Jordan already fits into 18 month pjs!) Well, since Taylor saw them again she has REALLY wanted to wear them even though they are a little small. So when I saw this pair at Walmart, I could not resist! Now my girls match and Tay is a little happier...not that you can tell from the picture. Jordan was ready for bed when I was trying to take the picture and had had enough! I'll have to get a better one later.

Fall Fun

I guess that you can call it Fall...we've had a really WARM fall so far, and Taylor still enjoys playing in the water with her friends. She keeps asking to go to the pool, and doesn't understand that it is closed for the winter! She and her friend Malia really enjoyed riding her little car in this camping tote that was filled with water!
The real fall fun has been juicing and canning!! We went with Rob's parents one weekend and have quite the supply of Elderberries and Choke cherries. The next week, I went with my friend Kelly and we accidentally stole some grapes!! Ooops!!

A friend of ours told us that the grapes juice much more quickly on a propane stove, so we fired up the camp chef (thanks to Kelly) and juiced all day long! You would think that we would be sick of juicing...but we're actually hoping to get some more grapes...legitimately! :)
I feel like Jordan always gets left out!! She's definitely a second child because she has about 1/100 of the pictures that we had of Taylor by the time she was Jordan's age!! So I just wanted to throw this one in of her! She loves to chill in her car and watch Taylor play! She is 8 months now and is moving all over the place and she can't wait to be as big as her big sister!

Labor Day Hiking

My Girl...Tay!

Tay went to the dentist for the first time today. I had my teeth cleaned first and she thoroughly enjoyed watching; they even let her push the button to take my x-rays! She was a little nervous at first, but let the dentist check her teeth and even sat still long enough for them to polish her teeth. Of course it helped that Dora was playing on those glasses!!

Tay also had another first this summer...her first official hair cut. We were visiting my parents in Casper when I went to get my hair cut, and Grandma was nice enough to offer to get Tay's hair cut also. She talked about her hair cut for at least a week!

She loved playing with Grandma in Great-Grandpa's hammock.

This is Tay with her friend Brooklynn at 7 peaks. Taylor became quite the fish this summer and still asks to go to the pool even though it is closed for the winter.

I have been really bad about posting. This camping trip was probably about a month ago now!! I need to get my other pictures off the camera and do some more posts!! Anyway, we headed up Hobble Creek a few weeks ago with my brothers, Paige (Bill's wife), and our friends the Morans. I thought that we were going to freeze to death (there was still snow on the ground) but it actually turned into a nice little overnighter!! Here are a couple pictures of the girls!! We've been wanting to get out of town for a while now...and the opportunity finally arrived! We packed up the car...dropped of the girls...and headed for Moab! We headed out about 5 pm and arrived in Moab around 8 pm. We started looking for a camp site along the Colorado River...nothing. Ok, let's try the slick rock trail...nothing. Maybe Canyonlands?...nothing. It's 10 pm now...Maybe the KOA (lame I know, but we were desperate!)...and again, nothing. A nice lady at the KOA showed us a few roads along the highway that people camp on and luckily we finally found a spot about 11 pm! Just enough time to set up camp, have cake for Angie's and Bill's Bday, and head to bed!! The next day was a little more fun! We hiked Delicate Arch and got the last permit for the fiery furnace. Here are a few pics...

Easter - I finally got the pics!!

This is the first year that Taylor sort of knew what was going on for Easter! Well, at least the Pagan side of things. We're still working on the Resurection. We had dinner with Rob's family and then Grandma put a few eggs together for Brad to hide and Taylor to find.
It took her a few minutes to get the hang of searching for the eggs...but once she figured it out, all we heard was "I find it!!! I find it!!!" Over and over and over...

She's pretty dang cute if I do say so myself!

The best part was stuffing as much candy as possible into her mouth after the egg hunt!!Doesn't Jordan look excited?!?! Hopefully she's a little more excited next year!

We finally got some nice weather!!! Taylor loves to be outside, and our day seems to go much more smoothly if she is happy!! We decided to have a picnic in the backyard.
Taylor actually ate her whole lunch...maybe we should eat outside more often!! :)

This picture doesn't make it look like Jordan was enjoying herself very much, but she loves being outside too! I can' t believe how quickly she is growing up!!

Taylor is absolutely in love with Elmo, so we had to do the Elmo cake!! My friend Katie gave us a couple of Elmo DVD's that her kids don't watch anymore and Taylor is constantly wanting to watch them...thanks Katie! (I wish you could here the sarcasm in my voice!!) I couldn't get her to smile! She is such a somber child (again the sarcasm! :) ) I baked the cake on Monday and put it in the freezer so that it would be easier to decorate. Taylor saw it and wanted to eat it...Then Tuesday I was decorating it during nap time so that it could be a surprise but Taylor came up from her nap while I was in the middle of putting Elmo's fur on! Of course she wanted to eat it!!

We got Tay this little vanity and as soon as she saw it, she forgot about everything else! Even the cake. So after waiting two days to eat her cake, she was too busy doing hair to even think about her cake!

Her friend Malia was really into the vanity too!! It should be interesting when she comes over to play...they already fight over everything!

So after playing hard all night and turning down cake multiple times I made her get ready for bed. I figured that she had forgotten about cake and got her down the stairs and almost to bed when she yells...."Elmo Cake. I want Elmo cake!" Well, it is the girl's birthday, so back up the stairs we went and had cake. After she had finished her first slice of cake, she asked for milk and more cake. Of course I indulged her and then she gulped down her milk and asked my for some chocolate milk...This girl can work the system!!

All in all...it was a great day and I can't believe that it's been two years since my little girl was born!! We love you Tay!

Our "Warm" Weekend!!

Rob has had spring fever pretty bad for the last couple of weeks, so we decided to go and visit his sister in Cedar City Friday night and then go hiking in Zion's Park Saturday. The forcast said 70 degree weather in Zion's....well, we woke up to a windy cold day! We decided to brave it and went down to Zion's anyway. Jenna suggested the emerald pool hike. This is the start of our hike...we tried to bundle the girls up.

Taylor was a trooper and actually hiked most of the way up.

Cabin Trip

We went with Rob's family to a cabin up by Strawberry Reservoir this weekend and spent some time playing in the snow!! Taylor loved playing in the snow and wanted to keep sledding even after I dumped her into a snow drift!!

There was lots of snow to play in...We had to climb down a snowdrift into the cabin!

Rob and I took the snowmobiles and went riding Saturday morning. We got on this hill...which is steeper than it looks. I was trying to turn around on the side of the hill and couldn't get enough muscle into it, so the sled decided to go down the hill. I made the decision not to go with the sled and bailed. The sled went about 500 ft down the hill and...

ended up in a creek bed!! I stood at the top of the hill shaking my head and wondering if it was going to sink!! Luckily, the sled stayed on top of the snow!

Rob went down to try and ride the sled out. You can see a hole to the left of the machine. It keeps going for 7-8 ft and then Rob said that you could see the creek running! Boy are we lucky!

After the drama with the creek bed, we got to some real riding!! This was a pretty fun place to jump the machines...too bad half the time I came off the machine after jumping it!! I am sore today!!

Taylor loved the snowmobiles! She would recline back into Rob and rest her hands on his legs!! That's my girl!!

The Best Day...Well One of My Best :)

So when I woke up this last Saturday, it was cast-over and kind of a gloomy day...how was I to know that it would turn out so well!! I started the day by going to the dermatologist and got some help with a little problem that I've been having while nursing Jordan!! It's nice to get things healing...Then we headed to Heber to change some skis on the snowmobiles. Rob's brother Brad came with us and when they were done working on the sleds, they headed up the mountain for a little riding and I stayed with Taylor at Rob's Grandpa's house. His Grandpa has passed away and Rob's parents are in the process of getting it ready to sell, so there's not much there at the house! The girls and I spent our time in the empy living room!

Taylor found Rob's Aunts' old barbies and was in seventh heaven!! She played for hours with this little car.

It took her a while to figure out that the car was made for the barbies...once she had there was so much more fun to be had!!

Meanwhile...Jordan snoozes...basically the whole day. Oh ya, except for her first blow-out! That had to be while we were away and the only other outfit that I had was a little too small. The poor girl couldn't stretch out too far! :)

Rob's brother came back to the house to watch the girls so that I could get a chance to snowmobile!! Thanks again Brad. So Rob and I took off up the mountain...and what is the first thing that happens??? Rob takes off between some trees and I bury my sled trying to follow him!! Here he is worn out from digging me out!!

I stopped and took this picture on the way back to the trailer!! Georgeous! What a brilliant ending to the snowmobiling! Then we went home and I spent the night snuggling with my girls and my hubby!! Gotta love my life!!

Introducing Jordan Emilie Jorgensen

Well, it's been a roller-coaster of a week!! My due date was January the 25th, which was Tuesday, but we were hoping that little Jordan could hold on a while and that she wouldn't arrive until the 1st of February. Rob recently got a new job, with much better benefits, of which we will be eligible for on the 1st of February...Thus our hope that little Jordan would wait to arrive! Well, money aside, we're really happy that she didn't decide to wait and that she's here!!

I started having light contractions at about 9 pm Wednesday night and kept assuring Rob that they were only braxton hicks and that they would go away!! Well, by 10:30 I finally gave him permission to call his parents and warn them that we might need them...and even before he could hang up we decided that they just needed to come!

We arrived at the hospital shortly after 11 pm and little Jordan arrived at 12:43 am!! Talk about a quick delivery!! We had a little scare when her heart beat dropped into the 30's and the nurses were calling for a quick delivery without the doctor, but her heartbeat went back up fairly quickly and we were able to wait for the doctor. We are grateful for her safe arrival.

She was 7 lbs 5 oz and 19.5 inches long...almost the twin of her sister Taylor who was 7 lbs and 19 inches. Here are some pics...

Taylor is a very proud big sister!! When she first came to visit at the hospital, she was not too interested in Jordan because there were too many things to play with! Rob's parents brought her home this morning, Saturday, and Jordan is the only thing that she wants to play with!! We even had to take Jordan downstairs to see her room and sit in the tent!! (Taylor has a little play tent in her room that she loves to play in) We're glad she loves her new little sister so much and hope that it continues that way!!

New Year's Eve Snowmobiling

We had the chance to get out and do some snowmobiling with Bill and Paige on New Year's Eve. It was a perfect day and we had a lot of fun. We decided to go kind of last minutes and so we decided just to take Taylor along instead of trying to find her a sitter. Needless to say, it got a little crowded with the three of us on one sled!! But we found an awesome meadow and spent most of our time taking turns on the sleds and so there wasn't too much time spent doubled or tripled up!!

We unfortunately forgot Taylor's coat back at Rob's grandpa's house, so she was bundled up in a fleece of Bill's and Rob's shell. She did amazingly well and only complained at the end of the trip, after having been out for 2 hours already. She kept falling asleep on the ride back to the car!

Merry Christmas

Santa Clause came to our ward Christmas party and Taylor got a chance to meet him. You can tell from the picture...that she is soooooooo excited!! She wasn't scared at all to go to him, but wasn't excited at all either. The look of indifference that is on her face in this picture is how she looked the whole time...well, until she got her candy!!
Taylor likes to shut herself in the hall bathroom without the lights on. (She still can't open doors!!) So Rob decided that she needed a light!! We couldn't get it away from her and she had a wonderful time shutting herself in the bathroom for another 20 minutes!

Winter Wonderland

So we were supposed to have the "Storm of the Century" a few days ago...and it was an utter disappointment!! Nothing even stuck to the ground! But this morning we woke up to a couple of inches of snow!! Rob has meetings all morning, so Tay and I got bundled up and headed outside!

Taylor has really started to enjoy being read to. I caught her on the couch a few days ago reading her favorite book!!

A couple of weeks ago, we had our 20 week ultrasound. We decided to take Taylor with us since it was at 7:30 in the morning. She was pretty good for most of the ultrasound, but was beginning to get a little restless...until this image came onto the screen. All of the sudden, she came to life! She stook up on Rob's lap and started pointing and yelling at the screen. I guess that she recognized her little sister!!

Summer Catch-Up

I can't believe how fast the summer months have flown by!! For those of you who haven't heard, we're expecting baby #2 and are really excited!! I spent most of the month of July on "bed rest" because of a rip in a low placenta that caused some bleeding. The baby has now grown big enough that the placenta is moving up to where it should be and I have been able to get back to normal life!!
We had planned a trip to San Francisco with some friends, but with the bed rest, ended up cancelling. Instead we got to go and visit my parent in Casper. We had lots of fun and got to go camping at Natural Bridge. Taylor loves camping...and loves corn cobs!

Saturday we decided to get some shooting in. I haven't shot a gun in many years!! It was fun to get out and shoot. My shoulder was a little sore from the 12 gauge! :)

I was glad that I could still hit a few skeet!!

Taylor went to play with her friend Addison so that we could go to the temple with BJ and his fiancee Paige. While there, Addison was taking a bath and her mom stepped away to grab something ... well, to her surprise...Taylor was in the bath with Addison upon her return!! My little girl loves water!!

I thought that I would include this picture!! My little girl is not a baby anymore!! She loves to let me make her hair pretty with little pig tails!! She's growing up fast and will be a great big sister!

The summer is kind of getting away from me!! I haven't been very good at keeping the blog updated...so here is a really abbreviated synopsis...
Tay absolutely loved her first ice cream cone!!

We're excited to hike again this summer with Angie. We have conquered Squaw Peak twice already. This pic is me looking the best...the next trip wasn't as good to me!

On Memorial Day we went for a little hike with Uncle BJ, Soon-to-Be Aunt Paige, and Devin. Taylor clearly enjoyed the hike!! Here are some more pics.

Taylor has decided that crawling isn't enough for her!! We've been prodding her, with no success, to take those first steps. Well, the other night we were sitting in the basement with some friends and here comes Taylor walking out from behind the pool table, and she hasn't stopped since. She's all about walking except when she takes a spill! :) This picture has nothing to do with walking but it is cute. Her next big 1st is...

her first time going to the bathroom on a toilet!! I know that she's still a little young, but I thought why not get her used to the seat. We got the seat and she was enthrawled by it. Well, the very first time we put her on the seat, she totally let loose and went #1!! She was all smiles as Dad and I cheered her on. Probably a freak coincidence, but we're still proud of her! We've only had one other success since that first time...but it's only been two days!!

Cathedral Valley

Rob has had spring fever VERY bad lately, and finally I told him that we had to get away for the weekend. So...we dropped Tay off at Grandpa and Grandma's and headed south. We wanted some rustic camping...but got this...
It actually ended up better because this campground was much lower in elevation, which translates into a warmer night for me. Saturday morning we headed out from Fruita for Cathedral Valley. Here are some fun pics from our day.

We decided to celebrate Tay's 1st birthday on Easter Sunday. Her birthday was actually the following Tuesday. All of Rob's family was able to come over for dinner, and my Mom and Dad were staying with us for the weekend...so we were all together! Mom, Rob, and I headed for the hills on Saturday. Rob didn't have snowshoes, but said that he would be fine. He ended up watching the dog sleds while Mom and I did some snowshoeing.

Taylor started sucking on the chair one day when my friend Angie and I were sitting around in the basement. We couldn't stop laughing and ran to get the camera, but Taylor had moved on by the time the camera arrived. I thought that we had missed the opportunity to document this moment...but no, she started doing it again later that evening! Hilarious!! I wish I could post the sucking noise as she sucked on the seat! :)

This was the same day that Angie was over. Angie and I were talking and Tay was just toodling around when she got really fussy. She was just walking around the coffee table and I didn't think anything of it...until we discovered this!! Heehee...

Winter Wonderland

Rob has been dying to get out of the house, and so we decided to dump Taylor and head for the hills. It was awesome because Grandma Jorgensen offered to take Tay Friday night and keep her until we were done Saturday. So we slept in Saturday morning and then headed up Provo Canyon. There was about 3 feet of fresh powder, which was beautiful...but the trail blazing was a lot harder with it!! Here are some pics...enjoy!

Oh...and Rob got the subaru stuck too!! It is all wheel drive...but it didn't get us through the new powder...luckily there was a nice man with a truck that pulled us out!!

Birthday Cake

Ok...so this isn't my birthday cake. But it is a cake that I made with the cake decorating kit that my mother-in-law gave me. You start by making two cakes and then pouring the batter into circular molds. It turned out pretty cool. I still have some work to perfect it...but we can't practice too often because I like to eat it!! :)

While we were home for Thanksgiving, Mom let me go through her old fabric scraps. I found some nice red sweatshirty material. I also found a pattern for a cute little hoodie. I already had the fleece at home, so all I had to buy was a $2 zipper and walah!! Cheapest jacket that this little girl has!!

Gotta love laundry day!! This is the best way for me to get the clothes folded after they come out of the dryer!

Pumpkin Pecan Pie

So Rob wanted pecan pie for Thanksgiving and I figured that I could do that much since he didn't get to be at home with his family. I told my mom that I was going to make one and she suggested a pumkpin pecan pie and rob agreed. It turned out amazing!! Not only did it look pretty but it might be my favorite pie ever. Here is the recipe...

3/4 c brown sugar

1/2 tsp. cinnamon

1/4 tsp. salt

1 c canned pumpkin

3 eggs, lightly beaten

1/2 c dark corn syrup

1 tsp. vanilla extract

1 unbaked 9 in. pie shell

3/4 c corsely chopped pecans

20 pecan halves

whipped cream

Combine brown sugar, cinnamon, and salt. Add pumpkin, eggs, corn syrup, and vanilla; beat well. Pour into pie shell - sprinkle with chopped pecans. ( I just mixed them in before I filled the shell.) Place the half pecans on the top. Bake at 425 for 15 minutes, reduce heat to 350 and bake for 25 more minutes, or until a knife inserted into the center of the pie comes out clean. (I had to bake it a little longer than the 25 minutes.) Cool.

My Husband ... The Chef

So Rob decided that he wanted to make some banana bread. He insisted on making it himself...because he wanted to make me a treat. The recipe that I have isn't very specific; it's just a list of ingredients. I told him kinda what order to do things to make the bread turn out. Well, the bananas were frozen and he defrosted them a little, but added them to the mix still fairly frozen. Because the bananas were frozen, the shortening started clumping up and wouldn't beat out. Well, this is my brilliant husbands solution...
You notice that the mixer bowl is sitting in a plastic bowl. Rob had me fill the plastic bowl with warm water while we mixed. I was a little hesitant at first...but we did it, and I'm proud to way it worked. The shortening smoothed out and the bread turned out amazing!! :) Why do I ever even doubt him?!?!?!
Oh...and I had to include a cute pic of Tay. She loves her new backpack, even though she's still a little small for it. I tried to take her out of it and put her in her walker, which she loves, and she threw a fit. She sat in the backpack for about 5 minutes before she would let me take her out!!

Squaw Peak Trail

Ok...by far the hardest hike so far this season!!! I had no idea how strait up and then strait down this would be. There was literally almost no flat spots. But in the end, the colors where beautiful and the view was definitely worth it. You'll notice Tay's awesome shoes...her actual shoes wouldn't stay on....so we improvised with Aunt Jen's gloves.
Taylor thoroughly enjoyed the hike. Jenna carried her for the steepest parts and I am very grateful. I probably wouldn't have made it!
I felt so bad, but Tay's diaper definitely needed a change. I tried to do it as fast as possible to keep her warm. We'll have to remind her when she's older that she was bare bummed on the top of Squaw Peak...I'm sure she'll love it!!
I think this picture gives you the best idea of the amazing view...but still doesn't do it justice!!

Hobble Creek

Gotta love camping in the fall! We headed up Hobble Creek Canyon with some friends for a quick overnight camping trip. We drove for about an hour to get up past all the crowded campgrounds...and oh boy was it worth it!! The guys got the tents up just before dark and we pigged out on some 7 layer dip, burgers, and brats.

As you can see...it was pretty chilly. The fire kept us fairly warm in the evening and morning. I tend to freeze, even in July, so I worry about Tay being warm enough...So this is how I got her ready for bed...

We started with her long sleeve onsie and sweat pants...oh and of course socks and booties. Oh and mittens. Then we put her in her normal footed sleeper. Next, I put her little hoodie on and another pair of mittens. Then came the sleep sack and hat. Finally I put her in the sleeping bag and topped it off with a blanket...do you think she slept warm?!?! :)

Fall Colors

So Angie and I headed out for our weekly hike and we didn't even make it into the park before we had to pull over and take a picture. I hadn't even realized the the trees were already changing, but our hike probably took twice as long because we were busy taking pictures. Here are some of my favorites.

Battle Creek Canyon

So I'm starting to think that our blog has turned into a log of all the places that we hike with Taylor. I think that it just might be that the only time that I really take the time to take pictures is when we are out on a hike....I need to do better!

Angie, Jodee, Emily (Jodee's Daughter), Taylor, and I went for a hike up Battle Creek Canyon, which is in Pleasant Grove. I had never heard of this little canyon, but I would recommend it highly. The hike is fairly steep, but worth the hike. Here are some pictures of just one of the water falls on the way.

The book that we found this hike in wasn't very clear about where the hike ended....so we just kept climbing...up...up...up...more up...and more up...I almost died. Finally we ran into this sign that told us we were only 1.3 miles from the car. Yikes...it felt like way more than that!! But still we kept going!

And finally we reached the top of the peak that we were hiking up. The trail continued on, but we decided to call it a day. As seen in this picture, we had a great view of Timp! I figured the view was worth the hike and we probably weren't going to beat it, so we turned around.Well, we left my house around nine in the morning and I got home around 2!! What a day!

Little Hiker

Taylor has been hiking up a storm...or at least enjoying the ride. Angie and I hike the Y the other day. I had forgotten just how uphill that hike is. (as you can tell from my face!!) But we made it and it prepared me well for Silver Lake.

Mom and Dad were here for the weekend and Mom braved the hike with us. Dad wasn't feeling well, so he stayed at home! I had seen pictures of the lake and was excited to see this pristine blue mountain lake...you can kind of tell from the picture that the lake wasn't exactly that!! Oh well, maybe next year!

So we've been in Park City for a couple of days using Rob's Parent's time share. We finally got out and did some hiking...if you can call it that! We walked strait up the ski slope...talk about testing your lung capacity. But what a view from the top!

Front Yard BBQ

We decided to go up the canyon for a BBQ with the family. We packed up hotdogs and smors and headed up the canyon with Mom, Bill, Tiff, and the kids. Well...it was Monday and the canyon was basically full and you weren't allowed open fires, so we headed back down the canyon to our house. We put the fire pit on the driveway and had a blast. Well as the coals cooled Bill got an idea in his head...

That wasn't enough for him...

Yosemite

So during our trip to Tahoe (pics to come) we decided to make a day trip to Yosemite National Park. So after about three hours in the car we got to this scenic lookout. You can kinda see half-dome in the background. They had a telescope set up that you could look and see ant sized climbers making their way up the face of it.

Taylor did not really enjoy having Grandpa's hat on...but she does really enjoy Grandpa. This is when we stopped for lunch and she was totally content to sit on his lap and watch him eat!

This is on a little hike that we took to the Sequoia Grove. It was only a mile...one mile down and the whole way down I was sweating the thought of a whole mile back up...but it ended up not being that bad. Taylor was really good and loves being in the front pack with Dad.

The trees where huge!! I took a little turn with Taylor!! Only long enough to see a couple of the trees and then I didn't fight very hard when Rob offered to carry her back up the trail to the car!! Here is a pic to give you a little idea of how big the trees are!

Johnny Jump-Up

Rob decided that Taylor was big enough for the Johnny Jump-Up... I honestly don't remember how old she was...but I would say a month a a half max!! Look at those skinny legs!

Let's just say that she fits it a little better at 3 months!! She loves it. She just spins in circles and drools all over my floor!!

Cedar City - Aunt Jenna's House

Jenna bought a house a little while ago and we finally had a free weekend to go down and visit! Taylor was not willing to cooperate with the picture taking. We were able to leave Orem early and get to Cedar in time for diner.

It took us a little while to get going in the morning! You would think that we were bored or something. . . I honestly don't remember how the pants ended up on her head, but it did make a pretty cute picture!! :)

We headed to a part of Zions Park that is closer to Cedar City. We thought that it would be appropriate to take Taylor on her first hike on the trail named Taylor Creek. It was a beautiful hike and a fun time. We had some cloud cover for part of the hike but the rest of it was pretty hot!! Here are some pictures of the scenery!!

This has to be one of the cutest pictures in the world!! ( I know that I'm a little biased!) We were using Jenna's wrap to keep Taylor out of the sun and cool as we hiked and at lunch it turned into a little head wrap!!

Feeding time on the way back to the car!! She wouldn't eat when we stopped for lunch...but about half way back to the car she wanted to eat!!

Taylor's 3 Month B-day!!

Time seriously is flying so fast!! I can't believe that my little girl is 3 months old...but on the other hand it almost feels like she has always been here with us!! She rolled over for the first time a couple of days ago and is moving and talking more and more each day!!

4th of July Weekend - Tay's First Camping Trip

So we decided to finally go on a camping trip...we've been trying to all summer.

We took off with a loaded car, seriously loaded. Lauren, Nick, and I all had stuff at our feet and in our laps!! Rob even tried stacking things on Tay but I put a stop to that! :) We drove to Heber and headed up the mountain...could not find anything...headed over the mountain to Strawberry Lake....could not find anything....headed over the mountain toward Spanish Fork Canyon...

Not all the roads were very user friendly...this is the one that finally got us to our spot

3 hours in total until we found the perfect spot.

Then we set up camp and got dinner ready...

I was worried about Taylor getting cold..so we
bundled her up good. This is how we found her come morning!

Overall, I think Taylor loved the experience...well at
least her mother thoroughly enjoyed the weekend away!

After talking to my friend Wendy and hearing about everyone who is blogging...I decided to give in and join the club.
