July

We started July off with a bang!  Rob found a nice little state park in Indiana for camping on the 4th of July.  We invited the Rowleys (my sister and her family) down to camp with us.  We took a few pictures while we waited for them to get to camp.

Rob worked really hard at getting a fire going...but the wood wasn't really cooperating.  It was a sign of things to come... The Rowleys got to camp and we enjoyed a nice evening around the fire and then wrestled kids ALL night long.  Unfortunately, we woke up to pounding rain!  It was a fourth of July to remember...camping with breakfast at McDonalds!!

The main event of July was our trip to Utah.  It took us a couple of days to drive out but then we had a week and a half in Utah.  We spent time at Grandpa and Grandma Jorgensen's house and spent a couple of days camping at Flaming Gorge reservoir.  Here are some pictures from our camping trip.

Taylor loves watching people wake board and ski off the back of the boat!

We took a Dam Tour and the girls had fun posing for the camera.

Can you tell how much Jordan enjoyed the tour?

Love that he has his hands in the pockets of the front pack!

Loves driving!

We have a picture of each kid taking a snooze under the dashboard of the boat!  We had to continue the tradition.

July came and went in a whirlwind...one that dropped us off in Wyoming at the beginning of August...

June

We had a packed summer and I'm finally getting around to writing a little about it.  I decided that it would take me forever to do everything justice and so I decided that I would sum up each month in a post.  We started June with a trip to the cemetery in Lexington.  Come to find out, both Rob and I have relatives that are buried there and we had a fun day searching the cemetery for our relatives.  The girls had fun eating lunch in the car and running around looking for headstones.

The highlight of June was a visit from Grandpa and Grandma Jorgensen and Uncle Brad.  While Grandpa was here, he got some great shots of the kids.  Here's my favorite one of the girls.

We stopped at a park in Lexington to eat some lunch with everyone and Taylor found a swing for her Daddy!!  I about died laughing.

Grandpa and Grandma took us out for a good dinner in downtown Louisville.  It's a restaurant under the freeway called the Troll Pub.  We had to have everyone try the local must-eat...the Hot Brown.

We enjoyed a lot of time just laying around enjoying the nice weather.  T

Jordan enjoyed herself so much that she tuckered right out...this is almost unheard of for this little girl.

We took a little road trip to Mammoth Caves National Park.  We had to take a bus from the visitors center to the part of the cave that we were touring.  Taylor and Jordan loved riding the school bus!

Jordan wasn't feeling too hot...and insisted on Rob carrying her through the whole cave tour with her favorite blanky.  Good thing is was a shorter tour...only about a mile holding 28 lbs!

Taylor was a trooper and walked a lot of the way, but Uncle Brad was there to carry her when she needed it.

Here are a couple more pictures of the kids that Karl got.  I love this one of Taylor and Matthew.

I love when this little girl smiles.

Had to include this one...she is clueless that the dress is on backwards!  I think she'll love this picture when she is 16.

Our neighborhood had a neighborhood fishing contest at one of our neighbor's ponds.  Taylor caught a little blue gill and won the under 10 year old category.  She won $10.

I love this picture.  His cousin Apsen loved to put her binky in like this.  He actually puts it in like this all the time.

Memorial Day at Foxwood Forest

We really wanted to get out and do something for Memorial Day, but Rob couldn't find anywhere that wasn't full to go camping for Friday night.  So...we camped with the Weavers at Foxwood Forest...aka our backyard.  We worked the afternoon and had the "campground" looking pretty good by the time our friends came over.  Our little walk-behind mower did great at cutting though all that Kentucky foliage!  Underneath all the brush, we found all the bricks that someone must have used as a fire pit at some point.  We hope to get a more permanent structure for the fire pit eventually.
Here are my two handsome men!!  Matthew didn't do amazing on his first camping excursion...he and I came into the house about 2 am!!  Hopefully it goes a little better when we don't have the option of coming in the house.
The girls were loving the fire.  Jordan was having a tough evening...she kept falling and hurting herself.
Here's a view of the "campsite" from the fire ring.  We could even fit a few more tents if anyone wants to come and visit!!  Or I guess you could stay in the house! :)
Saturday afternoon, we busted out the slip - n - slide in the front yard.    Taylor and Jordan spend a lot of afternoons out front with the slip - n - slide!
The whole family, minus Matthew, took a spin down the slide.  The girls thought it was awesome that mom and dad took a turn.
This is Jordan's favorite thing to do...she rarely actually goes down the slide!
Monday afternoon, we had a BBQ with some friends and then ended up back at our house so that the kids could run off some energy!
This is Jord's go to face lately!!  I'm hoping she gets a little happier!!
Here we are finishing up the weekend with some otter pops...my wimpy girls said they were too cold!!  They needed a rag to keep their hands warm!

Despicable Me Blimp

Despicable Me is Jordan's all time favorite movie!!  Since she was 18 months she has been asking for it by saying, "Me..Me...Me...!"  So when Rob saw that they were taking a blimp around the country to promote the second movie...we had to check it out.  Luckily it came to Louisville for the Derby.  The website http://www.despicablimp.com/ has a map to show you where it is but never says specifically where...so Rob and I spent the day trying to find out where in Louisville it was.  Luckily some people had tweeted that it was at a little airport.  We drove 30 minutes and walked along a chain fence for about 300 yards to see it!!

I think Taylor was more excited than Jordan and was mad when we didn't get to see it fly!

Jordie finally got into it!

Matthew was just along for the ride.

Here are the girls trying to say Despicable Me Blimp!

Life and Derby

If you've ever met Rob...you know that he hasn't stopped since we got here!!  We've been in the house for about 5 weeks and he has...
painted the office
painted the kitchen
added a set of stairs to the porch
put in a rock path to the new set of stairs
cut down and moved all the dead fall in the back
cut down a tree in the front
fixed all the squeaky floors
added shelves in the garage
...and I am sure that I have forgotten something!
Oh ya...two new light cans in the kitchen!

Taylor is an awesome big sister and helps me all the time by watching Matthew!

Jordan is now potty trained and doing awesome!  She's had a rough week this last week...if you can tell form the picture, she fell off the porch onto the rock path and got a pretty good goose egg while bloodying her nose.  She has had a fever for about a week with really bad breath.  After about 3 days I finally gave in to take her to the doctor only to find out that she didn't have an ear infection or strep throat!  We're hoping that she will get better soon... for all of our sanity!!

Jord is an awesome big sister too and loves to lay and play with Matthew....The only draw back is that Matthew doesn't get to play with his toys!

We took a night off from projects last week and found a fun park to play at.  The girls loved the splash pad even though we hadn't come prepared.

Jordan had no qualms stripping down to her undies....Taylor was a little more modest and stayed dressed.

In honor of moving to Louisville and to my Grandma who watched the Kentucky Derby religiously, we decided to make our own hats and watch the derby!

Jordan didn't want a thing to do with our homemade hats, she opted for the cowboy hat...

Rob, on the other hand, didn't mind our girly hats!  Oh and that is strawberry milk in his hand!!

Here's the whole happy family ready to watch the race!!  I wish we had gotten one a little closer up!

I had to include this one!!!  We just got the bumbo seat out for Matthew and he loves it!!  Jordan had to be i the pic!
