Lake Powell

Well...about an hour into our journey to Lake Powell, Rob's parents' suburban decided to almost die on us!!  Instead of risking the rest of the journey, we unhitched the boat and sent the suburban back to switch out for the truck while we stayed and camped out on the boat for a couple of hours!  Luckily it was overcast and not too bad.

Here's the boat...FULLY LOADED.  Becky, my mother-in-law, was a little nervous that we wouldn't float!

 Here are some fun pictures of our 3 days on the lake!!  We spent a lot of time just sitting in the water and also, just sitting on the boat!  It was nice to be out and just relax.

 We found a little cove that we like and decided to call camp, and found this little gem as we set up camp.  Someone obviously spent a lot of time constructing it, and Taylor enjoyed playing with it.

We wake boarded one morning for all of 30 minutes.  Here's the extent of my wake boarding...get up...fall down...get up...fall down...I was just a little sore the next day.

 Jenna, Tay, Grandpa, and I hike a little bit to some Indian ruins!!  There is a cellar just below us that was about 20 degrees cooler...I could have stayed there for hours!

 Jord's favorite seat was up front with Grandma with the wind in her hair!!

 The only way that we could get Jord to nap was by taking a boat ride!!  So every day after lunch we'd head out on the boat for a long ride!!

 This just sums up Rob's excitement for about everything we did on this trip!!  Poor boy was having allergy trouble!

 Tay and I did a little tubing!!  She's getting to be a little dare devil!

 Oh...and the beautiful sunset each night!!

Yellowstone

Some friends mentioned that they wanted to go to Yellowstone and we thought that sounded like a good idea!!  It was a beautiful trip...if only Jordan had cooperated!!  3 days in the car is not the ideal trip for a 17 month old!!  Rob and I decided that we would do the trip again someday...when all the kids are at least 8 years old!! :)  It could be a while!

This is West Thumb Geyser Basin.  Here are some pictures of the girls cheesing it up!  I decided to play a little with the camera and actually liked how some of the black and white pics turned out!

The only animal that Taylor really wanted to see was a bear.  Here she is with a buffalo and she thought that was pretty cool but still wanted to see a bear.  We saw lots of elk, a cow moose, lots of bison, a fox, oh and a bear...too bad Taylor was sleeping for the bear!!  Poor girl.

We tried to get a family picture at Old Faithful...you can tell for yourself how that went!!

We enjoyed our evening out of the car!!  Especially Jordan!  We played at the camp site and walked down to the lake and had fun throwing rocks into the lake!!

Here's Taylor proud of her marshmallow!!  I'm pretty sure this is the first one that she did all by herself!!  Well, maybe not the actual first one...I'm sure there were some black ones before this, but this one she thoroughly enjoyed!

They Make Me Smile!!

Today has been one of those days!!  Crazy busy and not enough energy to get it all done!!  I was in the middle of changing the wash when I got a phone call and wondered to the office...when I came back this is what I found...

Little Bit of Randomness

We traveled to Wyoming to do the Memorial Day Trek with my mom's family.  We drove to Casper Friday night and not too far into the ride, our dvd player stopped working!  So I gave the girls some books and hoped for the best!!  Looking at these pictures you'd think we had hit the jackpot...too bad it only kept them content for about 10 minutes!!

Well, we've joined most families in the fact that we had a sibling haircut the other day!!  I'm not even sure what Rob and I were up to at the time, but Tay got the scissors and decided that Jordie needed a new look. Chopped the pony tail right off!  We were lucky that she didn't do it closer to the head.  

As you can see, Jordie was having a great time and probably stood very still for her makeover! 

Still smiling!  And actually not too bad...some new bangs and one happy girl!

Solar Eclipse with Grandpa and Grandma Jorgensen

I am glad that Rob's parents are on top of things or we would have totally missed the eclipse!!!  Right after church on Sunday, we headed over to Rob's parents and headed as far south as we could stomach to drive and still come back home that night!!  We ended up on top of a mountain above Fairview, UT.  

Jordie's #1 concern was dinner!   No surprise there!! 

Grandma had to finish up an assignment for her master's class.

Tay got new shoes today and she informed me on the way home that she can now exercise and play basketball like mommy!  I asked why and she informed me that she now had exercising shoes!! :)
